Place a barbell in a squat stands or a squat rack at the usual height that you would take it from the rack to front squat. Either ask a training partner to forcibly hold the bar down or add so much weight to the bar that it won’t move when you try to get it off the rack (be careful with this one!). A Smith machine could also be used. With one of these two options in place, put your hands in the position they would be when racking a clean and push up against the bar to stretch the wrists. Chances are it won’t feel terribly comfortable so take care not to overextend. Hold for about 10 seconds, briefly rest and repeat 8-10 times.

Slingshot’s STrong Knee Sleeve  is the stiffest and most rigid sleeve we tried. They’re made of grade three 7mm neoprene, which is made stiffer than your regular 7mm neoprene models. From their site, Slingshot points out that these sleeves are comparable to a light knee wrap and add around 20-50lbs of rebound out of the hole. We like this for powerlifters training heavy and working to build their maximal load confidence. If you want a rigid sleeve that provides a ton of support in the squat, then the STrong Knee Sleeves are a great choice for you.

The RM was my first experience of a squat program that hadn’t followed linear workout-to-workout or weekly progression. I had maxed at a 165kg squat around 5 weeks before starting the program (my 5RM suggested that a stronger squat should have been possible) but my squatting since then had been fairly inconsistent due to travelling for work and going on holiday in August. Keeping both of these details in mind, plus a couple of technique points that needed to be fixed, we decided to start conservatively with a max of , from which the calculator turned out a nice, convenient starting weight of 130kg. This is what it generated for the nine weeks:

Oh come on, this is absurd. The guy comes with hard scientific evidence and you call that “unoriginal.” It’s called citing a source. You cited this Bill DeSimone guy a bunch of times, does that make you unoriginal? No, you’re just trying to back up your points like this guy, only Revo has better sources (peer reviewed science FTW, buddy). That’s a very weak rebuttal. You didn’t address a single point. It’s almost like you’re far more interested in being right than having a discussion or (god forbid) learning something.
